2. Introduction to the njuko ecosystem

Understand the three core njuko applications: My-Structure, Store and Registrations.

When you first start using njuko, there are three main applications you’ll navigate between on a daily basis:

  • My-Structure

  • Registrations

  • Store

Understanding the role of each application will help you configure your events more efficiently and understand how the njuko ecosystem is organised.

This guide introduces the basics of each application and explains how they work together.

1. Understanding the top navigation menu

When you log into njuko for the first time, you’ll see the main navigation menu at the top of the screen.

Key areas include:

Profile settings

On the top right, you can:

  • Change language

  • Edit your profile

  • Access account tools

  • Log out

Structure selector

Your current structure name is displayed at the top.

If you manage multiple organisations or accounts, you can switch between structures here.

Applications menu

The applications menu gives access to the main njuko applications:

  • Store

  • Registrations

  • My-Structure

  • Other advanced applications

These are the three core areas you’ll use most often.

2. My Structure

My Structure is your organisation’s central account area.

This is where you manage:

  • Organisation information

  • Users and permissions

  • Contracts and KYC

  • Financial dashboards

  • Shared email templates

  • Terms of use

When you first create your structure, some sections may appear empty until your first edition is created.

For example, the financial dashboard will only populate once registrations and payments exist.

2.1 User management

Inside My Structure, you can:

  • Add users

  • Configure user roles and permissions

2.2 Financial dashboard

The financial dashboard allows you to:

  • View invoices

  • Access financial reporting

  • Monitor edition revenue

This area becomes active once your editions are live and receiving registrations.

3. Registrations

The Registrations application is where you will spend most of your time, as it’s where you create and manage your editions.

This is the operational area used to:

  • Create events and editions

  • Configure competitions

  • Build forms

  • Manage participants

  • Configure workflows

  • Send emails

  • Monitor registrations

3.1 Event vs Edition

One important concept in njuko is the difference between an Event and an Edition.

Event

The Event is the parent container.

Example:

  • Paris Marathon

Edition

The Edition is a specific occurrence of that event.

Examples:

  • Paris Marathon 2025

  • Paris Marathon 2026

Each edition contains:

  • Its own registrations

  • Competitions

  • Participants

  • Emails

  • Settings

  • Dashboards

You can create multiple editions under the same event.

3.2 Creating your first edition

View the full guide to creating an edition here.

When creating an edition, you will typically:

  • Add basic event information

  • Create one or more competitions

  • Add prices

  • Configure your registration flow

You can:

  • Start from scratch

  • Or use a template if available

Once created, the edition will appear in your Registrations dashboard.

Within Registrations, you can also search participants across all your editions.

This is useful when:

  • Supporting participants

  • Managing transfers

  • Checking registrations across multiple events

4. Store

The Store is where you install additional features for your editions, they are called modules.

njuko is modular, meaning:

  • Your edition starts with all core registration functionality included

  • Additional modules can be added only when needed

This gives you flexibility and keeps editions lightweight.

4.1 What kinds of modules exist?

Examples include:

  • Specific form fields

  • Team functionalities

  • Group functionalities

  • Waiting lists

  • Competition transfers

  • Advanced start wave functionalities

  • Various integrations

  • Fundraising tools

  • On-site tools

Some modules are free, while others are paid.

4.2 How modules work

Each module page includes:

  • A description

  • Setup instructions with configuration steps

  • Pricing information

  • Installation button

You can install modules directly into your edition from the Store.

4.3 Why njuko is modular

The modular system allows you to:

  • Only activate features you need

  • Keep editions simple

  • Scale functionality progressively

  • Customise each edition differently

  • Only pay for what you need

There are hundreds of available modules, and new ones are often added.

5. When to use each application

My Structure

Mostly used for:

  • Account administration

  • Financial management

  • User access

Once configured, you may not need to access it often.

Store

Used whenever you want to:

  • Explore features

  • Install modules

Registrations

This is where you will spend most of your time:

  • Configuring editions

  • Managing registrations

  • Building forms

  • Managing participants

  • Running your event

Once you understand the three applications, we recommend continuing with:

  1. Create your first edition

  2. Configure competitions

  3. Build your registration forms

  4. Configure emails

  5. Test the registration journey

  6. Open your edition live
