How to create competition packs

Offer bundled competitions and simplify multi-race registrations.

Competition packs allow you to group several competitions into a single bundled offer.

They are designed to:

  • Increase cross-registration

  • Simplify the participant journey

  • Reduce registration friction

  • Improve conversion rates

When a participant purchases a competition pack, their information from the main competition is automatically reused for the secondary competitions — saving time and improving the overall experience.

1. What Is a Competition Pack?

A competition pack is a bundle composed of:

  • One main competition

  • One or more secondary competitions

  • An additional cost that you define

Participants register once through the main competition and are automatically enrolled in the selected secondary competitions included in the pack.

This avoids repeated form completion and ensures a smoother, faster registration process.

Competition packs are particularly useful for:

  • Multi-distance event weekends

  • Stage races

  • Add-on races (e.g. 5K + Marathon)

  • Combined race formats

  • Premium bundles

2. How to Set Up Competition Packs

Step 1 – Install the module

Install the module Competition packs.

Step 2 – Create or edit a pack

In your edition, go to:

Setup > Competition Packs

Click Add a Competition pack
or edit an existing one.

2.1 Information section

In this step, define the structure of your pack.

You will need to:

  • Select the main competition

  • Indicate the number of secondary competitions

  • Choose which competitions are included

  • Enter the pack label (public name)

  • Add a description

  • Optionally complete the Info chip field (to highlight key information such as “Best value”, “Limited offer”, etc.)

  • Define the availability period (start and end date)

The availability period controls when participants can purchase the pack.

2.2 Pricing

In this section, define the prices applied to each secondary competition within the pack.

You retain full control over:

  • The additional cost per secondary competition

  • The overall perceived value of the bundle

Clear pricing strategy here can support upselling and increase average basket value.

2.3 Fields management

When a participant registers for a competition pack:

  • Their answers for the main competition are automatically applied to the secondary competitions.

This significantly reduces data re-entry and improves user experience.

However, you can choose to re-display specific fields for secondary competitions.

Example

If:

  • Main competition = Marathon

  • Secondary competition = 5K

You may want to display the Estimated Time field again for the 5K.

If you do not re-display the field, the value entered for the Marathon will automatically apply to the 5K.

This gives you flexibility while maintaining registration efficiency.

Important note on required fields

If a required field exists only in a secondary competition (and not in the main competition), it will automatically appear during the registration process.

You do not need to manually add it in the pack configuration.

This ensures compliance with competition-specific requirements while preserving a seamless participant journey.

Competition packs are more than just bundled offers — they are a strategic tool to increase engagement, encourage multi-race participation, and simplify complex event formats.
